Kaohsiung Linyuan Fengyun Temple | Mazu Sea Pilgrimage

The grand sea event held every four years, the Linyuan Fengyun Temple Mazu Sea Pilgrimage, will make its debut at the Port of Kaohsiung.

The Linyuan Mazu Sea Pilgrimage symbolizes the compassionate Mazu illuminating the night and protecting all generations of Taiwan. The main visual design aims to appeal more to younger audiences while fully portraying Mazu’s dignified, gentle, and kind image as envisioned by the public.

 

Using an abstract approach with geometric patchwork, the design injects fresh creativity into traditional religious culture.

The graphics are inspired by the ripples of ocean waves, extending into the typography and illustrations. The neon color palette represents the vibrant fleet of boats, symbolizing the compassionate Mazu lighting the way through the darkness and safeguarding every generation in Taiwan.
