GACC|Taipei Xia-Hai City God Cultural Festival
This year, the Taipei Xia-Hai City God Cultural Festival extends the theme concept of “Passing Down the Sacred Flame Across Generations.”
The “Ding-Xia Jiao-Ping” was a clan conflict that took place in Bangka (modern-day Wanhua) in 1853. Driven by the need for survival and the desire to preserve their ancestral legacy, the defeated Tong’an people eventually resettled in the Dadaocheng area. Along with their migration, they brought their devotion to the Xia-Hai City God, establishing his worship on Dihua Street.
The main visual design centers around the Xia-Hai City God, who has protected the local community for nearly 200 years. Looking back at history, the design uses bold color contrasts to highlight the sparks ignited by the historical context of the era. The custom typeface features strong and steady strokes, symbolizing the City God’s commanding presence and authority.
Furthermore, the promotional materials are uniquely shaped like incense pouches, symbolizing the City God’s role in granting peace and ensuring the continuation of the sacred flame.

Honored to collaborate with Taiwan Power Company and the General Association of Chinese Culture in receiving the 2020 Golden Pin Design Award Mark in the Communication Design category.
